About Us

The Nebraska Czechs of Prague was formally established and recognized in 1999.

It was stemmed from a previous chapter - Saunders County, which began around 1970 but eventually dissolved.

The late Adolf Nemec had been the president of the Saunders County Chapter and his wife Gladys (Novak) Nemec has been Treasurer. They along with one of their sons, Mark Nemec, knew that having a chapter was too important to be pushed aside.

In 1999 they created the Nebraska Czechs of Prague, due to the highly concentrated amount of Czechs in the area.

The club is still always looking for members to be a part of the celebration of heritage.
